Danaher & Walsh win FOUR awards in one month in November 2023!

November was a brilliant month for Danaher & Walsh Civil Engineering.

Internally, we know that our teams deliver excellent work. However, external recognition makes these achievements even more meaningful.

Awards from independent bodies help show clients, employees and future recruits that Danaher & Walsh is a trusted company to work with and work for.

Gold Award from The 5% Club

At the beginning of the month, Danaher & Walsh received a Gold Award from The 5% Club.

The award recognises our commitment to “earn and learn” opportunities. This includes apprenticeships, T Levels, graduate roles and postgraduate employment.

We were delighted to attend the awards ceremony at Mansion House in London. The Right Honourable Robert Halfon MP, Minister of State for Skills, Apprenticeships and Higher Education, presented the awards.

This recognition highlights our ongoing commitment to early careers and skills development.

ProCon Infrastructure Project of the Year

Danaher & Walsh also celebrated success at the ProCon Awards 2023.

The St George’s Street redevelopment won Infrastructure Project of the Year.

The project improved an important route into Leicester city centre. It created a more attractive public realm space with resin-bonded gravel walkways and rainwater gardens.

As well as improving the look of the area, the rain gardens also support drainage.

Pick Everard designed the project, and Leicester City Council acted as the client.

Double Honours at the Considerate Constructors Awards

The Watkin Road Bridge site also achieved national recognition.

The project won a Considerate Constructors Leading Light Award for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.

This award recognised our work to increase the number of women employed in construction.

In addition, Watkin Road Bridge received the overall Site and Workforce award. The team achieved this against strong competition from 51 sites, including projects delivered by Tier 1 contractors.

Celebrating Team Success

These awards reflect the hard work of people across Danaher & Walsh.

They also recognise the quality, care and pride our teams bring to every project.

From early careers to public realm delivery and site culture, November highlighted the strength of our business.

Well done to everyone involved in these achievements.

“To win a Considerate Constructors Leading Light award means a great deal. To win the overall award is fantastic. This is a national award and we are a local contractor. We know our standards are high, but to have this recognised by such a well-respected body as Considerate Constructors is very special. We are very proud indeed.”
