Playing a key part in our drive to bring environmental and social prosperity to the region we serve through our commitment to Love Every Drop are the Integrated Maintenance and Repair Water Recycling Alliance (IMR WRA) who are key to delivering sustainable solutions.

Comprising of Anglian Water, Clancy, Claret Civil Engineering, Public Sewer Services and Danaher & Walsh, the IMR WRA manages planned and emergency sewer, rising mains and SMART technology installation as well as maintenance and repair across the region.

With the amount of work and sites increasing at a rapid rate across the region, we are looking for a number of Site Engineers to join us to drive performance excellence!

What will you be doing as our new Site Manager Ironworks?

Reporting to the Senior Area Operation Manager, the post holder will be responsible for managing the manhole, cover and frame (MHCF) parcel, driving efficiency, particularly focusing on manholes in the highway. The role will ensure Anglian Water owned apparatus is repaired or replaced safely when required and that productivity and performance is monitored and reported on.  

Working collaboratively with five Partners, planners and the Area Manager, to ensure our resources are utilised and sub-contractors are used when necessary, you will deliver industry leading design standards and help develop effective and efficient processes that will drive value and satisfaction for customers.  

In conjunction with the Anglian Water’s New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA) team you will build relations with local Highway Authorities (LHA), understand their requirements and work with them to ensure our work to proceeds smoothly.  

Key responsibilities:

  • Ensure that operations are carried out in an effective, efficient and safe manner to provide a service to our customers with availability in line with all relevant Water Recycling and environmental protection standards.
  • Establish relationships with local highway authorities.  
  • Build relationships to collaborate with other utilities and LHA, co-ordinate plans to reduce traffic management costs and challenge Section 81 covers that should not be completed by Anglian Water.  
  • Understand Anglian Water requirements and ensure they are met.
  • Understand requirements of the Area Managers and work with them to ensure the teams are safely and effectively used.  
  • Visit sites to assist Enabling team where required.  
  • Keep up to date with new products and technologies relating to ironworks in the highway and understand how this impacts value for the whole job as well as cost of materials 

A little bit about your skills and behaviours

  • Educated to A level standard with appropriate specialist technical/engineering qualification or equivalent proven experience  
  • Proven understanding of Section 81 of the NRSWA 
  • Good communication and collaboration skills with the ability to constructively challenge. 
  • Excellent organisational, prioritisation skills 
  • Knowledge of operational processes – the process of safely replacing manhole covers in a street and residential property 
  • Good knowledge of Health & Safety and Environmental legislation, and in particular the application of the CDM Regulations
