Cyber Essentials re-certification is another important step in supporting trust, resilience and confidence for our clients, employees and project partners.

Danaher & Walsh Civil Engineering has made a major investment to support its long-term Anglian Water partnership.

The investment includes specialist camera technology, robotic cutters, a new grab lorry and planned CCTV capability. Together, these resources will strengthen our delivery through the AMP8 framework and beyond.

As a civil engineering contractor working across the East Midlands and East Anglia, Danaher & Walsh continues to invest in the tools, plant and equipment needed to support safe and efficient project delivery.

Investing in Sewer Inspection Technology

Danaher & Walsh has invested in new camera equipment to improve sewer inspection and condition assessment.

This technology will help our teams inspect sewer networks more effectively. It will also support faster decisions around maintenance, repairs and upgrades.

The investment includes a portable camera system for our RISC team, valued at £36,000. In addition, we have purchased two advanced 100-metre pan and rotate systems, valued at £26,000.

One system will support our Pipelining team. The other will support our Civil Engineering division.

Strengthening Pipelining Capability

The Pipelining team has also received two new 60-metre Solo Pro units, valued at £13,500.

These units will replace older frontline equipment. As a result, our teams can continue to deliver reliable inspections and high-quality service for clients.

This investment supports our wider focus on trenchless technology, drainage surveys and data-led decision-making.

Robotic Cutters for AMP8 Delivery

Danaher & Walsh has also placed orders for two IMS Lateral Robotic Micro Cutters.

This investment totals £170,000. The cutters are expected to arrive by mid-March 2025.

Once in service, they will support survey and robotic operations across the Anglian Water region. They will also help teams remove obstructions and support efficient pipeline maintenance.

These investments form part of a wider strategic enhancement programme. The first phase of equipment investment totals around £245,500.

New Grab Lorry Investment

Danaher & Walsh is also investing in a new grab lorry, valued at £181,000.

The vehicle is due for delivery in March 2025. It will support our Anglian Water teams with material deliveries and spoil removal across multiple sites.

This will help keep works moving efficiently. It will also improve site clearance and reduce reliance on external providers. Together, the Phase 1 investments total £426,500.

Future Investment Plans

Danaher & Walsh is already planning further investment.

Phase 2 forecasts an additional investment of around £130,000. This will include a bespoke CCTV van fully fitted with CCTV equipment and welfare facilities.

A potential Phase 3 investment may include a recycler jetting lorry. If approved, this would bring the total investment to around £1.1 million.

These future plans show our continued commitment to long-term service improvement.

Supporting Quality, Safety and Client Delivery

Dave Burkill, Framework Manager at Danaher & Walsh Civil Engineering, said:

“Danaher & Walsh is committed to continually investing in our infrastructure and expertise to meet and exceed client needs. This investment demonstrates our dedication to delivering excellence today and in the future.”

Long-Term Commitment to Anglian Water

These investments strengthen Danaher & Walsh’s ability to support Anglian Water during AMP8.

They will help our teams improve sewer inspection, pipeline maintenance, material handling and day-to-day site delivery.

In turn, this supports safer working, better service and more efficient outcomes for Anglian Water and the communities we serve.

Danaher & Walsh Civil Engineering has invested a six-figure sum to support its ongoing relationship with Anglian Water. The first phase of this investment includes three new vans for our Risk Identified Sewer Cleaning team. Each vehicle includes a Rioned Urban Jet jetting unit and has been fully branded in Anglian Water livery. This investment will help improve efficiency, strengthen service delivery and support proactive sewer network maintenance.

Supporting the RISC Team

The new vans will support our Risk Identified Sewer Cleaning team, also known as RISC. This proactive team works on high-risk sewer locations across the Lincolnshire and Ruthamford area. These locations often have a history of sewer issues, pollution risk or flooding concerns. By targeting these areas early, the team helps reduce the risk of future incidents. As a result, the work supports better network performance and improved protection for local communities.

How the RISC Team Works

The RISC team starts by assessing identified high-risk locations. They carry out CCTV sewer surveys to check the condition and performance of the network. If a sewer needs cleaning, the team uses high-pressure jetting equipment to service the pipe. During the survey, the team also looks for structural defects. These can include cracks, dropped joints or other issues within the sewer pipe. If they find a defect, the team completes an enabling form with the required information. The project team can then review the data and consider the right repair option.

Investing in Specialist Equipment

Each new van includes an industry-leading Rioned Urban Jet jetting unit. The team has also received new Minicam push camera units for sewer surveying. Together, these tools support both cleaning and inspection work. Each van represents an investment of more than £70,000. Therefore, this programme provides the RISC team with high-quality equipment for day-to-day operations. The new vehicles will help the team work safely, efficiently and effectively across the Anglian Water region.
