A joint Danaher & Walsh and Anglian Water team attended Construction Week to promote career opportunities in the water industry.

The event was organised by the Lincoln Group Training Association and took place at the Lincolnshire Showground from 30 September to 2 October. It gave pupils from schools across Lincolnshire the chance to learn more about construction, civil engineering and water industry careers.

Inspiring Future Talent

During the event, pupils explored a wide range of trades and career routes within the construction industry.

They also took part in practical demonstrations and spoke to industry professionals. As a result, young people gained a better understanding of the skills, roles and opportunities available across the sector.

The event helped bring construction to life by giving pupils a hands-on experience outside the classroom.

Promoting Water Industry Careers

The Danaher & Walsh and Anglian Water team spoke to pupils about pipeline and sewer repairs, maintenance and water recycling services.

In addition, the team demonstrated a state-of-the-art vacuum excavation machine. This gave pupils a practical insight into the specialist equipment used to maintain underground infrastructure safely and efficiently. It also helped show how technology supports safer working practices across the water industry.

Supporting Skills and Career Awareness

Lincoln Group Training Association is a not-for-profit association of around 60 construction companies in Lincolnshire.

The association receives funding from the Construction Industry Training Board, also known as CITB. Through events like this, LGTA helps young people connect with employers and explore future careers in construction, civil engineering and infrastructure.

Encouraging Careers in Construction

Danaher & Walsh is proud to support initiatives that introduce young people to the industry.

By working with Anglian Water and LGTA, the team helped showcase the variety of roles available within the water sector.

These opportunities are important because they help pupils understand the skills needed for future careers. They also give employers the chance to inspire the next generation of construction and infrastructure professionals.

We hope the event encouraged pupils to consider careers in construction, engineering and essential infrastructure services.
