Supporting Prostate Cancer Research through Anglian Water Alliance Fishing Competition

On 11th July, members of the IMR WR Alliance team came together at Float Fish Farm for a charity fishing competition, an event that combined friendly rivalry with a shared commitment to supporting a vital cause.

Danaher & Walsh were proud to play our part, contributing £500 in sponsorship towards the day. Colleagues from IMR WR Alliance partners joined forces on the day, enjoying some healthy competition while raising funds and awareness for Prostate Cancer Research (PCR). Home – Prostate Cancer Research

Thanks to everyone’s collective efforts, the competition raised an impressive £629, as acknowledged in a letter of thanks and a certificate of fundraising recognition from PCR.

Why this matters

Every year, more than 12,000 men in the UK die from prostate cancer, that’s one every 40 minutes. However, if caught early, the disease is almost always curable. Donations like these support life-saving research and national campaigns that call for earlier screening and increased awareness.

PCR’s recent initiatives include:

• A national petition with over 138,000 signatures, calling for the government to prioritise prostate cancer screening.
• A groundbreaking £600,000 research partnership with Breast Cancer Now to tackle the spread of cancer to bone in both prostate and breast cancer patients.
