Social Value Case Study
Danaher & Walsh has committed to Social Value, which we call ‘Engineered for Good’. We focus on the ten areas we believe we can make the biggest and best impact in the communities in which we work.
This case study is an example of our commitment to giving opportunities to ex-offenders.
Opportunities for Ex-Offenders
We are proud to volunteer with Key4Life, a charity transforming lives and reducing re-offending through a unique rehabilitation programme.
Key4Life works with individuals in prison, those at risk of going to prison, and young people involved in anti-social behaviour and knife crime.
The benefits of their work are remarkable – only 7% of Key4Life participants re-offend—dramatically lower than the national average of 64%.
Participants are also four times more likely to gain employment within a year post-release, helping to build a positive future. Ultimately, Key4Life is breaking the cycle of crime, saving lives, and creating a safer, more hopeful society.
How Danaher & Walsh help
We help by going into the prison as volunteers towards the end of the Key4Life programme for the prisoners, where we carry out mock interviews or Dragon’s Den-style events.
We are always amazed at the high standard of the young men whom we meet, and we are proud to play a part in their rehabilitation. So many of these men were given a bad start in life and just need that second chance.
