This case study is an example of our commitment to inspire the next generation
Inspiring the next generation
Danaher & Walsh recently had the pleasure of participating in Work Experience Week, an initiative coordinated by Learn Live and the Considerate Constructors Scheme.
During this impactful week, six students visited our head office to engage in the online event. They received guidance from industry experts, including representatives from Danaher & Walsh, who mentored them in person. This approach allowed students to benefit from a diverse range of insights from various professionals across our organisation.
The students were tasked with an exciting challenge: to design a road alongside a national cohort. To enhance their experience, we took them to our site in Coalville, where they had the opportunity to work with a Total Station, gaining hands-on experience in the field.
The week culminated in a presentation where the students showcased their designs to a panel of judges acting as ‘clients.’ We are proud to report that despite being the youngest participants, our students achieved joint first place, impressing the judges with their work and expertise that belied their year 10 status.
