Social Value Case Study
Danaher & Walsh has made a commitment to Social Value, which we call ‘Engineered for Good’. We focus on the ten areas we believe we can make the biggest and best impact in the communities in which we work.
This case study exemplifies our commitment to inspiring the next generation.
Inspiring the next generation
In partnership with Anglian Water, Danaher & Walsh Civil Engineering proudly participated in the 20th National Construction Week, held from September 24th to 26th at the Lincolnshire Showground.
During this exciting careers day, over 1,500 young people engaged in a variety of hands-on activities designed to introduce them to the construction industry.
The event was hosted by the Lincoln Group Training Association (LGTA) and featured nearly 80 companies from construction and related trades, all showcasing the diverse opportunities available within the sector. Interactive activities made the day fun and engaging for the students.
Danaher & Walsh Civil Engineering, alongside Anglian Water, highlighted our advanced expertise through our Advanced Pipeline Solutions division.
Our team delivered a range of interactive activities that offered participants a glimpse into civil engineering. Attendees enjoyed building a pipeline simulation using balls to represent water, participating in a teamwork challenge that involved moving a tin bottle along a ‘virtual pipe’ with ropes, and competing in a PPE challenge that combined a fun quiz with a race to put on safety gear.
The enthusiasm and excitement displayed by the children throughout the event were truly inspiring.
Witnessing their engagement with the activities reinforced our hope that many will be encouraged to pursue future careers in civil engineering. While we were unable to take photographs of the children for privacy reasons, we can assure you that the smiles and excitement were plentiful, making the event a resounding success!
