Social Value Case Study
Danaher & Walsh is committed to Social Value, which we call ‘Engineered for Good’. We focus on the ten areas we believe we can make the biggest and best impact in the communities in which we work.
This case study exemplifies our commitment to inspiring the next generation.
Inspiring the next generation
Danaher & Walsh Civil Engineering, in partnership with Anglian Water, proudly supported Construction & Engineering Week 2025 at the Lincolnshire Showground, an event that brought together nearly 80 organisations and welcomed more than 1,500 students from across the region.
Organised by the Lincoln Group Training Association (LGTA), the event gave young people the chance to explore careers in construction and engineering through hands-on experience.
Interactive activities made the day fun and engaging for the students
Our team kept the students engaged and inspired with an action-packed programme of activities.
From racing wheelbarrows through obstacle courses and tackling a sewer quiz, to assembling pipes with hidden words, sitting in a digger, exploring a tools van and competing in a PPE relay, there was no shortage of energy or enthusiasm. Each challenge not only entertained but also gave students a glimpse into the skills and teamwork that drive our industry.
The response was overwhelmingly positive, with teachers and students alike praising the opportunity to connect classroom learning with real-world engineering. The event demonstrated the importance of inspiring young people to consider careers in Civil Engineering and Construction.
Although safeguarding rules meant no photographs of the children could be taken, the excitement on the day spoke for itself, a clear sign that we helped spark future interest in the next generation of engineers.
