Social Value Case Study
Danaher & Walsh has committed to Social Value, which we call ‘Engineered for Good’. We focus on the ten areas we believe we can make the biggest and best impact in the communities in which we work.
This case study is an example of our commitment to enhancing communities.
Enhancing Communities
Danaher & Walsh Civil Engineering was appointed by Stepnell on behalf of North West Leicestershire Council to redevelop the Marlborough Square public realm space.
While we were working on the marketplace, representatives from the Methodist Church, located on Marlborough Square, approached us with a request. They asked if we could help clear an overgrown area adjacent to their church, as the space had become unusable. By clearing it, they hoped to create a more functional space that could be used for outdoor activities and events, enhancing their ability to engage with the local community.
We were able to help them with this through our Engineered for Good social value commitment, where one of our strands is to help enhance local communities.
“Thank you so much for the work done by your team. They have done a great job and we are so grateful.” Elspeth Myles, Coalville Methodist Church.
