Key aims and challenges

Unity Square is a brand new UK Government hub located in central Nottingham, adjacent to the city’s mainline railway station. The 10-storey complex will be occupied by HMRC and other governmental agencies. Set to be home to up to 4,000 staff, the development is part of the Nottingham’s Southern Gateway regeneration project. The scheme has been jointly developed by Peveril Securities and Sladen Estates.

D&W’s scope of works included S278 highway improvement works as well as public realm works to the exterior of the building complex. The highway works comprised the widening of the very busy Sheriff’s Way, the construction of a splitter island, resurfacing and lining.
