Project Overview

Danaher & Walsh were appointed by Leicester City Council to deliver environmental improvement works on the St Matthew’s Estate.

This initiative supported the City Mayor’s corporate objective of maintaining Leicester as a welcoming and supportive city for all residents. The estate, located in the inner city, is primarily made up of large blocks of flats and maisonettes, with most properties owned by the council.

Outcomes

Danaher & Walsh successfully completed the scheme in December 2022, delivering significant improvements to the St Matthews Estate. The upgraded courtyards and communal spaces now offer a safer, more pleasant environment for residents.

The new parking areas and lighting have enhanced both functionality and security across the neighbourhood. Through close engagement with the local community, the project not only met the council’s objectives but also reflected the needs and concerns of those living within the estate.
