Coalville Market Square Redevelopment
Project Overview
Danaher & Walsh were commissioned to deliver a new Market Square for the town of Coalville. The project included a wide range of tasks such as installing new drainage connections for gullies and electrical supply boxes to support market operations. We also laid ducting and access boxes for cabling and water supply for planters, in addition to constructing new roads. Various paving sub-formations were required for road categories 5, 6, 7, and 8. For the hard landscaping, we sourced high quality granite kerbs and granite paving.
The project further involved landscaping to the planters, complete with an irrigation system to ensure proper watering of the plants. We installed multiple electrical supply boxes for market stalls, a funfair, and the town’s Christmas tree. Other key components included installing a Christmas tree socket, furniture bases, road signage, and setting up street lighting and CCTV columns to enhance the public realm space.
The Outcome
Danaher & Walsh successfully delivered a new Market Square that meets the needs of the people of Coalville. The project was completed to the highest standards, providing a durable, fit-for-purpose public space that will serve the community for years to come. Through proactive problem-solving, careful coordination, and value engineering, we ensured the project was completed on time and within budget, leaving a positive and lasting legacy for the town.
