Langford Footbridge, Oxfordshire
Danaher & Walsh was appointed by Skanska on behalf of Oxfordshire County Council to construct a new footbridge near to the rural village of Langford.
Project Overview
The new bridge replaced an existing structure, providing footpath access over the Broadwell Brook.
D&W removed the original structure and set it aside for disposal. After constructing new abutments, the wooden superstructure was assembled from a kit. The scheme also comprised footpath construction, landscaping works and fencing works.
A key feature of the project was the limited access to the site, owing to the bridge’s location outside of the village in a rural location. The project was completed with minimal impact to the local environment by using a small team and compact site set-up.
