Hamilton Road
Project Overview
Danaher & Walsh delivered the Hamilton Road highway improvements on behalf of Via. The scheme renewed this busy local route in Sutton-in-Ashfield.
The works included new kerbs, drainage upgrades, carriageway resurfacing and upgraded footways. These changes will keep the highway working well for years to come. They also improve the look of the area and make it easier for local people to get around.
The scheme took place on a live highway. So, careful planning was essential from the start. The team worked hard to keep safe access open. They also aimed to cut disruption for residents, businesses and other road users.
The new drainage helps manage surface water better. This cuts the risk of standing water on the road. It also makes the highway network more resilient.
The resurfacing work gives a smoother carriageway. The new footways offer a safer route for people on foot.
Outcomes
The completed Hamilton Road highway improvements bring lasting benefits to Sutton-in-Ashfield. Local people and businesses will feel this for years to come.
Drivers now have a smoother, more reliable road surface. Meanwhile, people walking and cycling have better access. New footways and a safer layout make this possible.
The upgraded drainage also helps the road last longer. It should cope better with heavy rain in future.
The scheme has also boosted local links. Nearby businesses now have safer access for vehicles. Deliveries are easier too, and the street looks better overall.
The team used recycled materials and low-carbon methods throughout. This supported the project’s goals for a greener build. It also helped keep the finish to a high standard.
Overall, the scheme has made Hamilton Road safer, stronger and in better condition.
