Danaher & Walsh Supports Leicester City in the Community’s Work for All Programme

Danaher & Walsh Civil Engineering is proud to support the Work for All programme, run by Leicester City in the Community.

As part of the programme, our SHEQ Manager, Sue Southam, has helped students prepare for future employment by taking part in mock interviews.

The initiative supports Year 13 students from SEND schools across Leicestershire. It helps them build confidence, improve employability skills and prepare for real job interview situations.

Helping Students Build Confidence

The Work for All programme gives students practical support as they prepare for the world of work.

Through mock interviews, students can practise answering questions in a safe and supportive setting. They can also learn how to talk about their strengths, skills and interests.

As a result, the sessions help students feel more confident when meeting future employers.

Supporting Employability Skills

The programme works with students aged 17 to 18 from SEND schools across Leicestershire.

It aims to help them develop key skills for employment. These include communication, confidence, interview technique and workplace awareness.

In addition, the 12-week programme includes a work experience placement. It also ends with a weekend trip to Calvert Lakes, a residential outdoor activity site for disabled people.

Inspiring Young People into Construction

Sue Southam is a trained CITB Construction Ambassador.

She is passionate about working with young people and helping them explore future career routes. Through her role, Sue helps raise awareness of the opportunities available in construction and civil engineering.

This support reflects Danaher & Walsh’s wider commitment to social value, skills and community engagement.

Leicester City in the Community is the social value and community engagement arm of Leicester City Football Club.
