Danaher & Walsh Shortlisted for Two National Awards

Danaher & Walsh Civil Engineering is proud to have secured a place on a national awards shortlist for two separate awards.

May was a positive month for the business, with recognition from both the Procure Partnerships Framework and Mates in Mind. As a regional SME civil engineering company, this recognition feels especially meaningful. It reflects the hard work, professionalism and commitment shown by teams across Danaher & Walsh.

Contractor of the Year Shortlist

Danaher & Walsh has been shortlisted for Contractor of the Year within the Procure Partnerships Framework awards.

The Procure Partnerships Framework team selected Danaher & Walsh for the shortlist. Therefore, this recognition is particularly special, as companies cannot nominate themselves for this award.

The shortlist place recognises the quality of work delivered by our teams on the framework. It also reflects the professionalism, collaboration and care they bring to every project.

The winner will be announced in September 2024.

Mental Health Support Recognition

Danaher & Walsh has also been shortlisted for the Best New Mental Health Supporter Engagement Award by Mates in Mind. Mates in Mind is a charity that supports mental health and wellbeing across the construction industry.

This shortlist place recognises the progress made by our internal Wellbeing Team over the past six months. During that time, the team has worked hard to improve mental health and wellbeing support across Danaher & Walsh.

Supporting Wellbeing Across the Business

The Wellbeing Team has introduced several initiatives to support employees.

These include:

• Thankful Third Thursday, also known as Breakfast on the Boss
• Monthly quizzes
• Internal wellbeing newsletter
• Step challenges to encourage people to spend more time outdoors
• A larger Mental Health First Aid Team
• Mental health and wellbeing prompts within SHEQ observations and reporting

In addition, Danaher & Walsh is introducing a more robust wellbeing plan. This plan includes training for employees to encourage more open conversations around mental health and wellbeing. Further initiatives are also in the pipeline.

Celebrating Team Effort

Both shortlist places recognise important areas of the business. The Procure Partnerships Framework shortlist highlights project delivery and client confidence. Meanwhile, the Mates in Mind shortlist reflects our commitment to supporting people.

Together, these awards show the strength of Danaher & Walsh as both a contractor and an employer.
