Danaher & Walsh Receives Double Recognition at ICE East Midlands Awards

Danaher & Walsh Civil Engineering is proud to have received two Highly Commended awards at the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) East Midlands Awards for the Ashbourne Reborn town centre transformation project, delivered in partnership with Galliford Try.
The project was recognised in both the Social Value and Large Project of the Year categories. This highlights the collaborative approach taken to transform Ashbourne town centre while delivering lasting benefits for the local community.
The Ashbourne Reborn scheme has revitalised key areas of the town centre. It has created improved public spaces, enhanced accessibility and supported the long-term economic vitality of the area.
Throughout the project, maintaining strong relationships with local businesses, residents and stakeholders was a key priority. This helped minimise disruption while maximising community benefits.
The recognition for Social Value reflects the project’s commitment to engaging with local communities. It also recognises the support given to local businesses and the positive outcomes delivered beyond the construction works themselves.
Meanwhile, the Highly Commended award for Large Project of the Year acknowledges the scale, complexity and successful delivery of a significant public realm transformation scheme.
Representing Danaher & Walsh at the awards ceremony was Robert Jones. He joined industry peers from across the region to celebrate the projects, teams and individuals making a positive impact within the civil engineering sector.
We would like to thank our client, project partners, supply chain and stakeholders who contributed to the success of the Ashbourne Reborn project.
Receiving recognition from the ICE East Midlands Awards is a testament to the collaborative effort and dedication shown by everyone involved.
Congratulations to all the award winners and finalists on the evening.
