Danaher & Walsh Marks 11 Years of Carbon Reduction

In 2026, Danaher & Walsh achieved carbon reduction certification for the eleventh consecutive year, following receipt of the Achilles CarbonReduce 10 Year Award in 2025. The milestone confirms that Danaher & Walsh has measured and managed its greenhouse gas emissions in accordance with ISO 14064 Part 1 2018 for eleven consecutive years. Achilles Carbon Reduce, powered by Toitū Envirocare, carried out the audit.
Eleven Years of Carbon Reduction Certification
The certification follows the latest annual audit of Danaher & Walsh’s emissions inventory against ISO 14064 Part 3 2019. The audit confirmed that Danaher & Walsh continues to meet the requirements of the Carbon Reduce programme.
Since the baseline period of 2013 to 2016, Danaher & Walsh has reduced its emissions intensity, carbon usage normalised against turnover, by 31.15%, based on the programme’s five-year rolling average methodology.
Why This Matters
For clients across the highways, infrastructure, bridgeworks and public realm sectors, this carbon reduction certification provides independently assured evidence that Danaher & Walsh manages its environmental impact responsibly, supporting procurement decisions on frameworks that increasingly require sustainability credentials.
Communities across Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and further afield also benefit, as sustained carbon reduction lowers the environmental footprint of local infrastructure delivery. Employees, meanwhile, see the achievement reflected in a culture of environmental accountability that runs through everyday working practices, from toolbox talks and SEATS training to site-level monitoring, underpinned by the company’s Safety, Health, Environmental & Quality Policy.
The result also reinforces Danaher & Walsh’s standing within the civil engineering industry, where verified, long-term carbon reporting is becoming an important marker of credibility for SME contractors operating alongside larger organisations.
Looking Ahead
Danaher & Walsh’s current target is to achieve net zero by 2035 in its own operations and by 2045 across all scope categories, a roadmap set out in its Commitment to Net Zero. Planned initiatives include reducing the use of diesel in heavy plant on hire, prioritising low-emission tools and equipment through procurement, and installing solar panels at its Head Office to reduce reliance on grid electricity.
This year’s audit also recommended Danaher & Walsh for Platinum status certification, reflecting the strength of its carbon management practices.
Achieving eleven years of carbon reduction certification is a significant milestone for any organisation.
