Danaher & Walsh Selects Parkinson’s UK as Charity of the Year
Danaher & Walsh Civil Engineering has selected Parkinson’s UK as charity of the year.
Employees chose the charity through a company-wide poll. The nomination came from D&W’s Steve Douglas, whose wife Genna lives with early-onset Parkinson’s disease.
Supporting Parkinson’s UK
Parkinson’s UK provides vital support for people living with Parkinson’s.
The charity also funds research into better treatments and, ultimately, a cure. By choosing Parkinson’s UK as charity of the year, Danaher & Walsh will help raise awareness and support important fundraising activity.
Why Parkinson’s UK Was Chosen
Parkinson’s is a progressive neurological condition. It occurs when the brain does not produce enough dopamine. As a result, people can experience symptoms such as shaking, muscle stiffness and reduced mobility.
Around 145,000 people in the UK live with Parkinson’s disease. It is also recognised as the fastest-growing neurological condition in the world.
Raising Awareness and Support
The choice of charity has a personal connection for Danaher & Walsh. Steve Douglas nominated Parkinson’s UK because of his family’s experience with the condition.
As a result, the charity received strong support from employees during the company-wide vote.
Supporting a Worthy Cause
Danaher & Walsh is proud to support Parkinson’s UK as its charity of the year. Through fundraising and awareness activities, we hope to make a positive contribution to the charity’s work.
We look forward to supporting Parkinson’s UK and helping raise funds for people affected by Parkinson’s.
