By cutting the trap out from the manhole chamber in the basement you have saved a structural survey and either an excavation in the footway at 4.5 metres deep or a specialist team to tunnel from inside the basement to remove the collapsed traps.

Yes, it is as strong (and in some ways, stronger) than a brand-new PVC or clay pipe. Once the resin in a CIPP liner hardens, it becomes a stand-alone structural pipe. Even if the old host pipe completely rotted away or disintegrated tomorrow, the liner is designed to hold the weight of the earth and the pressure of the water on its own.
No. All-lining schemes are designed according to what the original pipe material is and what is contained within the flows, so chemical analysis can be taken and materials sourced suitable to the ground conditions and flow.
