Supporting the Forces Community
Danaher & Walsh is a proud signatory of the Armed Forces Covenant. Through this pledge, we support Reservists, veterans, older cadets, service leavers and military families.
Our approach focuses on practical help and fair treatment. In addition, we aim to create an open, respectful workplace that recognises the value of Forces experience.
Support for Reservists
Reservists play an important role in the UK’s defence capability. However, they also balance this with civilian employment.
To support them, Danaher & Walsh provides additional annual leave for Reserve duties. As a result, colleagues can attend training and meet service commitments with less pressure.

Supporting The Armed Forces
Support for Veterans and Service Leavers
Veterans and service leavers can bring valuable skills to civil engineering. These include leadership, teamwork, discipline, resilience and problem solving.
Because of this, Danaher & Walsh supports veterans through dedicated employment initiatives. These include placements, insight days, mentoring and a guaranteed interview scheme.
We understand that moving into civilian employment can feel like a major step. Therefore, we aim to provide clear guidance and a welcoming environment for those exploring new career opportunities.
Support for Older Cadets
Danaher & Walsh also supports older cadets by offering insight experiences, apprenticeship guidance and information about further education.
This helps young people understand the range of careers available in construction and civil engineering. In turn, it can help them make informed decisions about their future.
Our support for cadets also links closely with our wider commitment to inspiring the next generation. Through early engagement, we can raise awareness of the industry and show young people the different routes into work.

Community Engagement & Events
Danaher & Walsh proudly promotes a range of events linked to the Forces community, including:
- Armed Forces Day and Week
- Reserves Day
- The Poppy Appeal
- Remembrance activities
These events give us the opportunity to recognise service, honour sacrifice and encourage reflection.
In addition, they help keep important national moments visible across the business. This matters because awareness plays a key role in building a respectful and supportive workplace culture.
We are committed to recognising the contribution of the military community, both within our organisation and across wider society.

At Danaher and Walsh, We’re proud to have an Armed Forces Champion.
Their role is to promote awareness of the Armed Forces Community within the business and provide guidance and support. They also help lead community initiatives.
